Infusing Portuguese folk roots into a global palette of sound, Tori Costa’s niche fusion genre of Luso-Americano World Rock is boundary-pushing, exotically enchanting, and entirely her own. Her distinct contralto to mezzo-soprano range reminisces upon the fado tradition, melded into a vulnerable yet provocative rock-and-roll delivery that is simultaneously nostalgic and avant-garde.
Gearing up for the release of her debut album, PURGATORIA, on November 21, 2025, Tori has been featured on RTP (Radio e Televisão de Portugal), The Portuguese Channel, 97.3 WJFD Paralelo and 95.9 WATD Almost Famous. In 2025, she has played some of the biggest cultural festivals and venues across New England, including the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament in New Bedford, MA; the WaterFire in Providence, RI; and The Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA; in addition to sharing the stage with international touring acts Romeu Bairos, Williams Maninho Nascimento, and Neal & The Vipers.
Tori’s bold artistry is moving audiences to new heights with her natural crowd intuition, clever humor and versatility as a multi-instrumentalist with a dance background. Costa’s Azorean heritage and southern New England origins are evident throughout her lyrical themes and portrayals.
